Laos: Luang Prabang – die alte Stadt der Tempel

I don’t know what it was. Me, being a bit tired of a 24-hour-journey, or the city having a possible hangover from the buddhist New Year’s Eve two weeks earlier. The city of Luang Prabang was amazingly calm and quiet, a tranquility I’ve never expected. And it was hot. Almost unbearably hot.

Was this the relaxing atmosphere everyone was talking about before?

It felt like I landed straight away from busy Berlin in a new dimension of time – or better: in a dimension where time wasn’t as important as usual.

Luang Prabang: The beginning

No rush, no hurry. Just a tiny village, at a peacefully flowing river, with the most beautiful buddhist temples on the other end of the world.

Luang Prabang had me right away. What a place to begin a journey.
